Free Community Prostate Cancer Screenings
August - October 2008
Did you know that African American men have a 60% greater risk of developing prostate cancer than Caucasian men? That's why Chesapeake Urology Associates is providing free prostate cancer screening in connection with many African-American churches in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Early detection saves lives. Help someone you love by making sure they take advantage of these free screenings. Call Nancy Cromwell at 443-738-8185 or email ncromwell@cua.md.
Our Goal:
To screen more than 2,000 men who ordinarily might not have the opportunity to get a prostate examination and PSA test.
Chesapeake Urology Associates physicians will provide free screenings:
» Free digital rectal exams and free PSA (prostate specific antigen) tests to eligible men
in prostate screening vans following the Sunday service
» Evaluation of test results
» Referral for appropriate follow-up care
» No health insurance is necessary
Participating Churches:
» Bethel AME Church - August 10th
» Calvary Baptist Church - August 16th
» New Shiloh Baptist Church - October 4th
» The New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown - October 5th
» New Psalmist Baptist Church - October 5th
